- 1940- first McDonald’s restaurant was opened in California by Richard and Maurice McDonald
- In 1958 the restaurant chain sold its 100 millionth hamburger.
- 1961- Hamburger University was opened.
- In 1967, the first restaurant outside US was opened in Richmond, British Columbia.
- In 1988, the first restaurant opened in a communist country in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, followed by the first Soviet restaurant in Moscow (1990).
- In 2006, the chain announced that it will publish nutritional information on its packaging of all its products, for the benefit of the customers.

- No proper training for employees.
- No security.
- Low wages.
Causes
- Human Resource managers do not provide proper training.
- Big company bureaucracy.
- HR managers do not listen to the employees ideas.
Solutions
- Stimulate employees by giving them more challenging tasks.
- Give them opportunity to innovate and use their ideas.
- People love to be recognized, so praise them when it is appropriate.
- Increase their wages.
- Respect employees.
